Job Description
Reporting to the Engineering Lead, who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-1s and development conversations, you will be responsible for:
1. Technical Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with the Cloud Platform Engineering Lead, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver cloud solutions that align with business goals.
3. Best Practices: Implement and advocate for cloud best practices, including CI/CD (Using Gitlab and Github), infrastructure as code using Terraform, and automated testing.
4. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
5. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends and recommend improvements to our existing infrastructure.
6. Security & Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to ensure that our cloud solutions meet all necessary compliance and security standards.
7. Mentoring: Share knowledge and mentor junior cloud engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. (Datadog must)
About the Role
1. Experience: At least 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering with a deep understanding of major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure,OCI ).
2. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in cloud architectures, services, and best practices. Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
3. Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to problem resolution.
4. Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.
6. Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated with the latest in cloud technologies and best practices. Cloud technology certifications are a plus

Do
- Provide adequate support in architecture planning, migration & installation for new projects in own tower (platform/dbase/ middleware/ backup)
- Lead the structural/ architectural design of a platform/ middleware/ database/ back up etc. according to various system requirements to ensure a highly scalable and extensible solution
- Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing the current and future requirements
- Utilize and leverage the new features of all underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of the installed databases and applications/ platforms, as applicable
- Strategize & implement disaster recovery plans and create and implement backup and recovery plans
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tower
- Manage day-to-day operations by troubleshooting any issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and developing fixes to avoid similar issues.
- Plan for and manage upgradations, migration, maintenance, backup, installation and configuration functions for own tower
- Review the technical performance of own tower and deploy ways to improve efficiency, fine tune performance and reduce performance challenges
- Develop shift roster for the team to ensure no disruption in the tower
- Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, data architecture guidance etc.
- Provide weekly status reports to the client leadership team, internal stakeholders on database activities w.r.t. progress, updates, status, and next steps
- Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and other initiatives for higher efficiency and effectiveness
