TIL -Technical Release Manager - 6 to 10 Yrs - Pune/Hyderabad
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Coordination
• Lead the end-to-end release process for Power BI and Databricks changes across development, test,
and production.
• Maintain a clear release calendar for reports, datasets, semantic models, notebooks, jobs, pipelines,
and platform changes.
• Coordinate releases across multiple pods/delivery teams, managing dependencies from data ingestion
to reporting.
Release Readiness & Quality Controls
• Ensure releases meet readiness criteria: data validation, peer review, security controls, documentation,
and runbooks.
• Facilitate go/no-go decisions based on risk, impact, and operational readiness.
Stakeholder & Cross-Team Coordination
• Act as the central point of contact between data engineers, analytics engineers, Power BI developers,
cyber SMEs, platform teams, and operations.
• Communicate release scope, risks, and timings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Risk, Change & Cyber Awareness
• Assess and manage release risk, especially for sensitive cyber data and shared datasets.
• Ensure compliance with change, audit, and cyber governance requirements.
Release Execution
PUBLIC
• Coordinate deployment activities: Power BI workspace promotions, dataset refreshes, Databricks job
scheduling, and pipeline activation.
• Support live releases and early-life monitoring, ensuring rapid issue resolution.
• Ensure rollback and mitigation plans are in place and understood.
Post-Release & Continuous Improvement
• Lead post-release reviews and capture lessons learned.
• Track and report on release metrics: success rate, incidents, rework.
• Drive continuous improvement in automation, standardisation, and documentation.
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Proven experience managing releases for data and analytics platforms.
• Understanding of Power BI or equivalent (reports, datasets, semantic models, workspaces) and
Databricks (notebooks, jobs, pipelines, environments).
• Solid grasp of CI/CD concepts for analytics/data platforms.
• Experience in cyber, security, or regulated data environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
