Senior SME – .NET Application Modernization

Location: USA – Remote

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior .NET Application Modernization SME to lead the modernization of legacy Microsoft-based applications. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, .NET Core/.NET, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes with proven experience modernizing legacy Windows applications.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring active participation in design, coding, troubleshooting, migration, containerization, deployment, and production support. Candidates focused primarily on architecture or management without recent hands-on development experience will not be a fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute modernization of legacy .NET and Windows-based applications.
  • Perform hands-on development using C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET Core/.NET.
  • Assess legacy applications and recommend modernization, migration, and remediation strategies.
  • Design and implement database solutions using MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Drive application containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Modernize deployment and application hosting practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, production, integration, and performance issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and support deployments and technical implementation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects, customers, and delivery teams to drive technical decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in coding and implementation.

Mandatory Skills

  • 12+ years of application development/engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on C# and VB.NET experience.
  • Deep experience with .NET Framework and modern .NET/.NET Core.
  • Strong hands-on MS SQL Server expertise.
  • Strong hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven Application Modernization / ATX Windows Modernization experience.
  • Experience migrating or modernizing legacy Windows/.NET applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance-analysis skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.

 

Mandatory Skills: FullStack Microsoft .NET Smart Web App .

 

Experience: >10 YEARS .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $220,000 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
