Role: Research and Communications Officer, Wipro Story Project
Type: Full-time, 5-days-in-office
Location: Kodathi, Bangalore (includes travel)

R͏ole Summary
We are looking for a passionate researcher equally adept with paper trails and digital footprints, comfortable in archives, libraries, databases, and online. They will uncover overlooked sources, connect the clues, and lay the foundation for evidence-based storytelling. The ideal candidate should be creative, understand business and technology, and can tell a story in long and short form.
The Wipro Story Project
Wipro’s story is older than independent India. In 2016, we started to reconstruct the whole of it. We interviewed hundreds of people, collected a vast repository of material – documents, products, photographs, and memorabilia – and set up the Wipro Archives in 2017 to preserve this. Our first book, The Story of Wipro, released in 2021. We are now creating our first museum.
Roles and Responsibilities:
You’ll work closely with the Wipro Archives and the Museum teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and building upon the story of Wipro, making relevant connections with changes in policy, economy and technology, setting it in the context of business and history.
- Support creating content relevant to exhibits, museum programs, archival projects, digital outreach, and internal comms.
- Collaborating with production, design and tech partners who work with approved content.
- Working with the Museum and Archives teams to communicate the story of Wipro through guided tours for visitors to the Wipro Museum.
This is a full-time, in-person role that will require travel.
Required Skills:
A post-graduate degree preferably in the Humanities, Liberal Arts or any associated stream.
- 8-10 years of proven experience in research and reporting.
- Experience focussed on corporate business history and communication will be an advantage. You need to have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- A successful candidate will be creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, with proven ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, accessible language.
- Business journalists and museum professionals based in Bangalore will be preferred.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with museum and/or multimedia content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with larger, diverse teams in allied functions.
