Consultant / Assessor͏

Location: Bangalore, India

Domain: Banking Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Consulting

Role Summary

Seeking a consultant-level professional with approximately 7 years of banking compliance, risk, audit, or regulatory consulting experience to support Consumer Protection Regulation (CPR) assessments. The role involves conducting regulatory gap assessments, reviewing consumer protection controls, interviewing stakeholders, documenting findings, and preparing remediation recommendations aligned with UAE Central Bank requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Consumer Protection Regulation (CPR) compliance assessments for banking clients.
  • Review policies, procedures, customer communications, disclosures, and operational processes against CPR requirements.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews with different teams.
  • Assess customer onboarding, product sales practices, complaints management, and customer treatment controls.
  • Identify compliance gaps, control weaknesses, and regulatory risks.
  • Document observations, evidence, and assessment of findings.
  • Prepare gap assessment reports, compliance matrices, and remediation recommendations.
  • Support development of compliance dashboards, risk registers, and management presentations.
  • Track remediation activities and validate closure of regulatory observations.
  • Support client workshops, regulatory readiness reviews, and internal quality assurance activities.

Required skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of UAE banking regulations and consumer protection principles.
  • 7 years within a bank's Compliance, Risk, Consumer Protection, or Internal Audit function.
  • Experience conducting regulatory gap assessments and control testing.
  • Ability to independently manage assessment of workstreams and interact with client stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in performing compliance assessments, audits, or control reviews.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into assessment criteria.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interviewing skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and compliance documentation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Risk Management, Law, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Certifications preferred: any Data Privacy related certifications, CISA/CRISC/Risk Management Certifications
