Job Description:
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitoring database, instance, application, and environment performance using tools like Oracle AWR, Statspack, or Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Analyzing performance metrics, wait events, and resource utilization to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
SQL and PL/SQL Tuning:
- Analyzing and optimizing slow-running SQL queries and PL/SQL code using tools like SQL Tuning Advisor and Explain Plan.
- Implementing query tuning techniques, including hints, indexing strategies, and re-writing inefficient code.
- Database Configuration and Instance Tuning:
- Optimizing database parameters and instance configurations to enhance performance and resource allocation.
- Managing and tuning memory components (SGA, PGA), I/O, and other system resources.
Schema and Object Optimization:
- Analyzing and optimizing database schema design, including table structures, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Managing and resolving space-related issues, such as segment shrinking and managing chaining/migration.
- Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:
- Diagnosing and resolving performance-related issues, including slow response times, blocking sessions, and resource contention.
- Conducting root cause analysis on performance incidents and implementing preventative measures.
- Experience with Oracle performance tuning tools (AWR, Statspack, SQL Tuning Advisor, Explain Plan).
- Knowledge of database administration tasks (backup/recovery, patching, schema maintenance).
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience: 5-8 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
