Role Overview 
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Social Media Manager (Interim Consultant) to provide coverage during a planned leave of absence. This is a 4-month assignment with scheduled overlap at both the start and end to ensure seamless continuity. The role is part of Microsoft’s Engines & Experiences (E&E) organization within the broader Marketing division and is embedded in Creative & Social, supporting multiple pods with a primary focus on Cloud & Industry (C&I). 
This position is highly visible and fast-paced, emphasizing Tier 1 moments and events (Flagship: Microsoft Build, Ignite, third-party and product events), executive-level announcements, Customer Evidence Stories, and real-time collaboration across a large, matrixed organization. The ideal candidate brings extensive social media expertise, strong operational discipline, and a confident presence when partnering closely with clients and cross-functional teams. 
The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for the daily execution, coordination, and optimization of organic social content across assigned Microsoft social channels. This role translates strategy into publish-ready content, maintains operational rigor, and acts as the liaison between Social Leads, stakeholders, agencies, and platform teams. The SMM manages content calendars, publishing workflows, channel maintenance, and initial performance insights, ensuring efficient progression from intake to live while upholding Microsoft brand, quality, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities 
Develop and execute social media strategies across key workstreams, focusing on events and major moments. 
Plan and support flagship and third-party events, coordinating timelines, creative teams, approvals, and live execution. 
Collaborate with creative, brand, events, and communications teams for unified storytelling. 
Support Social Media Managers as strategic, creative leaders beyond channel management. 
Lead cross-channel amplification for product, brand, and event accounts. 
Maintain channel standards like voice, visuals, and pinned content. 
Apply platform best practices to boost reach and engagement. 

C&I Pod Leadership & Collaboration 
Drive social execution and alignment for the Cloud & Industry pod, working with other pods as needed. 
Coordinate with Social Leads, Operations, agencies, and stakeholders from intake to live deployment. 
Manage intake reviews and execution handoffs per workflows. 
Communicate timelines, risks, dependencies, and execution details clearly. 
Incorporate feedback efficiently without compromising quality or deadlines. 
Support on-site activations by converting physical moments into social content. 

Stakeholder Management & Operational Excellence 
Coordinate with senior stakeholders across Microsoft, agencies, and internal teams. 
Translate complex inputs into clear actions and timelines to maintain momentum. 
Lead discussions, facilitate decisions, and sustain progress amid shifting priorities. 
Manage calendars, workbacks, reviews, and approvals proactively and meticulously. 

Channels & Platforms:
Serve as a social media expert, especially on LinkedIn; knowledge of newsletters and cross-channel amplification is a plus. 
Collaborate with CSA and marketing teams as social integrations evolve. 
Ensure content aligns with Microsoft’s voice, brand, and quality standards. 

Key Skills & Experience:
8+ years in social media management, preferably with enterprise or tech brands. 
Proven leadership in social initiatives for large events, launches, or announcements. 
Experience in large, matrixed organizations; familiarity with Microsoft or similar is beneficial. 
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously. 
Strong attention to detail and an action-oriented, agile mindset. 
Effective communicator comfortable leading meetings and client discussions. 
Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). 
Positive, adaptable, and enthusiastic about collaborative, event-driven work. 

Working Model & Expectations 
Interim consultant role supporting Microsoft E&E (Marketing, Creative & Social). 
Four-month assignment with structured onboarding and transition. 
Dynamic environment requiring flexibility and sound judgment. 
Close daily collaboration with client stakeholders and agency leads.

Confident leadership managing social timelines and high-visibility moments. 
Progress in advancing social’s role within C&I and the broader E&E ecosystem.

Experience: 5-8 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $148,500 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
