Role Purpose
This role focuses on architecting secure, scalable, and high-performance network and security solutions for modern data platforms built on Azure. The architect will ensure secure data access, governance, and monitoring across services like Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Unity Catalog, and Azure Monitor, supporting enterprise-grade analytics and data engineering workloads.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Architecture & Integration:
- Design and implement secure VNet architectures for Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, and Web Application including private endpoints, service endpoints, service principals, managed identity, and firewall rules.
- Optimize data flow and latency across distributed data pipelines and analytics workloads.
Security Architecture & Governance:
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and Azure AD integration for Databricks and ADLS Gen2.
- Design and enforce data governance policies using Unity Catalog, including fine-grained access control and audit logging, synchronized with Azure IAM.
- Manage encryption strategies for data at rest and in transit using Azure Key Vault and platform-native encryption features.
Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Set up and manage Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for real-time visibility into data platform performance and security events.
- Integrate Azure Monitor with Databricks and ADLS Gen2 to track usage, errors, and anomalies.
- Lead incident response and forensic analysis for data-related security breaches.
Collaboration & Enablement:
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Platform Architects, and Security teams to align infrastructure with business and compliance needs.
- Provide technical leadership in DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD integration and infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Bicep.
- Document architecture decisions, security controls, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of Azure networking (VNet, NSG, UDR), security (Key Vault, Defender), and monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Architect
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Experience:
- 10+ years in cloud architecture, with 5+ years focused on Azure data platforms and security.
- Proven track record in designing secure and scalable data platforms using Azure services.
Competencies
Experience: 8-10 Years .
Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
