Position Overview

The M365 Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom applications and solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role leverages Microsoft's cloud services, APIs, and development frameworks to build applications that integrate seamlessly with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and other M365 services to enhance organizational productivity and collaboration.

Level: Mid-Level (3-5 Years Experience)

 

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications using Microsoft 365 development frameworks including SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Platform, and Microsoft Graph API
  • Build responsive, mobile-friendly web parts and extensions for SharePoint Online
  • Create custom connectors, workflows, and automation solutions using Power Automate
  • Develop low-code/no-code applications using Power Apps for business process automation
  • Customize and extend existing Microsoft 365 applications (Teams apps, Outlook add-ins, SharePoint solutions)

Security & Compliance

  • Implement security protocols, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and data loss prevention strategies
  • Ensure applications comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements
  • Configure and manage application permissions and access controls in Azure AD

Administration & Support

  • Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive environments
  • Migrate data from on-premises or legacy systems to Microsoft 365
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on developed applications
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize application performance

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Business stakeholders
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, configurations, and development processes
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft 365/SharePoint development
  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise applications from concept to deployment
