Job Description

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with our supply chain and commodity planning teams. You'll turn operational spreadsheets and business data into trustworthy pipelines, dashboards, and AI-assisted tools — then deploy and support them in production. You'll work in Python (FastAPI/Postgres) and modern JS for the frontend, containerize with Docker, and integrate LLM features through our internal AI gateway. Most of the job is translating ambiguous, evolving business data into something a planner can act on with confidence — so strong data modeling instincts and comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders matter as much as raw coding ability.

 

Responsibilities:
 - Sit with business stakeholders (commodity managers, supply planners) to understand workflows and translate ambiguous asks into a data model with explicit invariants
 - Build ingestion pipelines for Excel/CSV/Box-hosted source files; detect and flag schema drift, not silently absorb it
 - Design and build internal web apps/dashboards (backend API + lightweight frontend) and deploy them to internal hosting
 - Integrate LLM-powered features (chat over data, RAG, extraction) via internal AI gateways, with an emphasis on cost/latency/security-appropriate use
 - Write validation/reconciliation logic that a data owner can trust — provenance tagging, audit trails, "never silently invent a number"
 - Iterate rapidly with SMEs; document decisions and open questions rather than guessing
 - Maintain production reliability (tests, CI-friendly builds, monitoring) for tools that business teams depend on daily

Experience: 8-10 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $173,800 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
