Job Description: 

Role

Join an exciting 2 years long term/ Fixed term contract role based in Sydney for one of our Insurance clients.

You will be leading and optimizing the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Workday HRIS platform, ensuring it supports strategic HR initiatives, compliance requirements, and operational excellence across the employee lifecycle.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of people systems and processes, while delivering a positive employee experience and supporting continuous improvement across the People & Culture function.

R͏esponsibilites

System Configuration & Maintenance
Manage Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Talent, etc.) ensuring accurate setup and alignment with business needs. Perform regular audits and updates to maintain data integrity and system performance. Translate HR policy and governance requirements into system rules and validations


Process Optimization
Support the delivery of a seamless and engaging experience for employees by ensuring systems and processes are continuously improved, intuitive, well-communicated, and responsive to user needs


Reporting & Analytics
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support workforce insights, compliance, and decision-making. Ensure data privacy and security protocols are embedded in reporting practices


Collaborate with stakeholders
Act as the SME for Workday and downstream integrations across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams. Partner with the broader P&C team, outsourced providers. Provide training and support to HR users and managers on system functionality and best practices. Take ownership of complex system related employee queries and provide guidance on people-related processes and policies, ensuring clarity and consistency across the employee lifecycle, and timely resolution


Change & Project Management
Support change initiatives, process transitions and workforce projects such as performance and reward reviews. Workday-related projects including implementations, upgrades, testing and enhancements.Document system changes and maintain configuration logs for audit and governance purposes.

R͏equirement

  • Proven experience in Workday HCM configuration and support
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in reporting tools (e.g., Workday Report Writer, Power BI, Excel)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in project delivery and change management within HR systems
  • Experience in people operations and systems for medium sized organisation
  • Exposure to supporting employee groups in both AU & NZ jurisdictions.
