About the Role

The Forward Deployed Engineer L1 will serve as a key technical consultant specializing in Generative AI (GenAI) applications and infrastructure, delivering innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of industry-leading organizations. This role focuses on engaging directly with clients to understand their business challenges and architect scalable, efficient AI-powered systems that enhance enterprise applications and IT infrastructures.

Your work will span the entire solution lifecycle – from initial consulting and requirements gathering to design, development, and deployment – collaborating cross-functionally with technical teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of next-generation AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead consulting engagements focused on leveraging Generative AI for application modernization and infrastructure optimization.
  • Analyze client environments and business objectives to craft tailored AI strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI-driven applications and infrastructure components, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to drive adoption of AI capabilities within existing enterprise architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on expertise throughout project lifecycle phases, including prototyping, testing, and iteration.
  • Stay current on emerging AI trends, tools, and frameworks to maintain a competitive edge and inform continuous improvement.
  • Document solutions comprehensively to support client knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to Wipro’s growing expertise in AI-driven digital transformation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience in AI consulting with a focus on Generative AI applications and infrastructure design.
  • Proven expertise in AI technologies, machine learning frameworks, natural language processing, or computer vision as applied to enterprise solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, containerization, and infrastructure automation relevant to AI workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex client requirements into innovative, practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business perspectives effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning in the rapidly evolving AI and digital transformation landscape.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000, with final compensation determined by factors including geographic location, relevant skills, and experience. The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
