The purpose of this role is to lead the VLSI development and design of the system by defining the various functionalities, architecture, layout and implementation for a client

Team: SPL Team in Taiwan Project:
Building a Vendor Managed Service Team to handle all Burnin Support in Taiwan.

Objective / Project Overview
• Building a Vendor Managed Service Team to handle all Burnin Lead Support in Taiwan.

Scope
• Looking for a vendor to build a team and manage the team to handle the build execution work in Taiwan.
• Vendor should provide a lead PM to manage this team day to day.
• Vendor is also responsible for managing the work quality and training for this team.
• The primary contact (or escalation) for the team should be the lead PM first.

Assumptions
• Apple defines scope of work, minimum resources quantity and provides sign-off on requirements.
• Vendor manages the deliverables, resourcing planing and internal training.
• Vendor (or lead PM) provides weekly reporting and handle initial escalation.
• Apple will have quarterly checkpoint to review this vendor managed team and the quality of deliverables.

Requirements
• The following role will comprise this vendor managed service team:
     • Burnin Lead PM

• The Burnin Lead PM should be responsible for the following (not limited to):
• Entire team’s deliverables and quality of work
• Handle resource assignment and work scheduling
• Report two weeks ahead for any team member to take Vacation/Annual leave and arrange coverage such that business is not impacted
• New team member’s screening, onboarding, training and regular checkin
• Initial triage for any external or internal escalation
• Monitor issue report from each team member and provide Weekly Summary Report
• Feedback gathering from leaders and cross functional teams
• Fill in the resource gap if someone on leave

Qualification

Qualification - Burnin Lead:
• Engineering experience: 2-5 years
• Program Management experience: 1-5 years
• Good understanding of software development
• Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to drive issues, track tasks, and evaluate priorities on a daily basis
• Strong EE fundamentals is desired
• Wireless experience or knowledge is desired
• Manufacturing experience and prior exposure to working with Contract Manufacturers is highly desired
• Mac OS and/or iOS experience is a plus
• Linux command line / scripting experience is a plus
• BS Electrical / Computer Engineering or relevant work experience (MS is a plus)

Timezone
• The team needs to have few hours overlap with Austin, TX
• Each member must be willing to support inside the factory during DryRun and Build.
• Rest (no DryRun and Build) can be supported from APO Taiwan office.
• Lead PM should be in office every day.

Success Criteria/Definition of Done
• During build events (POC, EVT, DVT), we will setup Post mortem after each build to review if the build event was adequately supported or anything that we need to improve.
• After the project is handed over to Ops Team at PVT, we will review the entire projects and gather the lesson learn for each project.
• If there is no red flag or issues / concerns highlighted by SPL, then this project is successfully supported.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Vendor must be able to maintain the minimum resource capacity at any given times.
• If the individual team member leaves, the expectation is that Vendor will be able to handle the resource gap on its own and backfill within 2 weeks.
• If the lead PM decides to leave, an email notification 4 weeks before actual end date is needed and vendor is responsible to secure the next lead PM ASAP.
• When new requirement come up, Vendor must source, onboard and train new resource within 3 weeks. Hence, Vendor is encouraged to build a bench of resources and make them available as needed.
