JD – Team Lead (GIS Mapping Operations)

Position: Team Lead
Band: B1
Function: GIS Mapping Operations
Process Type: Non-Voice
Shift: 24x7 (Flexible to work in rotational shifts and week offs)
Qualification: Graduate and above
Experience: 2-3 years (24-36 months relevant experience in GIS Mapping)
Location: India
Nationality: Indian
Language Requirement: English (Read, Write & Speak)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to manage GIS Mapping operations and lead a team of mapping professionals. The ideal candidate should possess strong GIS domain expertise, proven people management experience, and the ability to drive operational excellence while ensuring adherence to quality, productivity, and client requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2
  •  years of hands-on experience in GIS Mapping.
  • 1.5–2 years of experience in a Team Lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Expertise in map editing, road network creation, POI mapping, geometry correction, spatial data validation, and quality assurance.
  • Proven experience in team management, work allocation, productivity tracking, and performance management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent numerical aptitude.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, reporting, and dashboard analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to manage escalations, ensure governance compliance, and drive operational efficiency.

Training Provided

  • Internal GIS workflows and mapping tools.
  • OpenStreetMap (OSM) and related mapping processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of GIS associates to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project requirements.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GIS workflows, tools, and policies.
  • Allocate tasks based on project priorities, timelines, and business requirements.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Track operational performance and provide regular reports and insights.
  • Address workflow, policy, and process-related queries and manage escalations effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, governance requirements, and client expectations.
  • Build domain expertise within the team through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
