Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer / BI Developer with strong hands-on experience in Teradata, ETL development, and Business Intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in data warehousing concepts, excellent SQL skills, and the ability to work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Teradata.
· Utilize Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, MLOAD, and FLOAD for efficient data loading and transformation.
· Build and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards using Power BI, including writing DAX queries and calculations.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
· Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data issues and optimize performance.
· Leverage Python for data manipulation, automation, and advanced analytics tasks (preferred).
· Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
· Support cloud-based data initiatives, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred).
· Maintain documentation and follow best practices in data governance and version control.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Teradata: Strong hands-on experience with Teradata, including BTEQ, MLOAD, FLOAD, and stored procedures.
· SQL: Proficient in writing, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries.
· ETL & Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
· Power BI: Experience in building dashboards, writing DAX queries, and creating visualizations using Power BI Desktop.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to elicit and clarify requirements from business users.
· Agile Methodology: Well-versed in Agile practices; must have executed projects in Agile environments.
Preferred / Good to Have:
· Python: Knowledge of Python for scripting and data analysis.
· GCP: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, etc.
· Retail Domain: Understanding of retail business processes and data models is a plus.
Experience: 5-8 Years .
Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
