About the Role:
To perform a range of specialist finance activities to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory, reputational and commercial operational finance requirements within Servaada and to lead others in the accountancy discipline with a strong focus on system and control

Key Responsibilities:
- Applying commercial understanding of the business to ensure accountancy advice is aligned with the business needs.
- Communicating complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business and influencing outcomes.
- Ensuring a continually high quality of output to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and meet customer needs
- Maintaining and applying knowledge of multiple reporting basis and overseeing team development.
- Maintaining up to date professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
- Managing a range of senior stakeholders across the business.
- Managing competing priorities on different pieces of work in challenging timescales.
- Support the decision making process across the organisation teams where priorities and interests are often conflicting.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge
- Understands the commercial environment
- Understands requirements of Finance control environment
- Knowledge of Master Trust and Client Money Controls
Experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in a finance department (or relevant qualification)
- Experience of working within a regulatory environment
- Demonstrated experience leading control remediation
- Experience of system interrogation.
Qualifications (desirable not essential)
A qualified or in training member of a CCAB body or equivalent qualification (or relevant experience)

- As required, lead, develop, coach and mentor others to maximise their contribution
- Design and monitor appropriate quality assurance controls to ensure the accuracy and validity of Servaada financial information.
- Ensure all data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead the delivery of designated accounting activity throughout regulatory and new business requirements. Deliveries include accounting requirements captured, reviewed, validated against project designs and implemented into BAU
- Maintain an appropriate level of technical accountancy knowledge and understanding of different reporting requirements, including the policyholder accounting journey from source system to regulatory reporting.
- Manage and undertake analysis of complex business data to provide recommendations on operational viability.
- Manage project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting processes and outputs, in relation to BAU needs as well as Waterloo requirements.
- Perform a range of activities to support key stakeholders in a range of business environments, such as within the regular finance reporting cycle or within a project environment to inform business decision making.
