Role Overview
The Supplier Quality SME provides technical and process leadership to strengthen supplier
quality systems and drive preventive, standardized, and cost-effective quality practices across the
supply base. The role focuses on identifying gaps in current supplier quality processes, defining
best practices, and enabling continuous improvement through governance, SOPs, and COPQ
reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and identify gaps in supplier quality processes, including PPAPs, corrective actions
(8D), incoming quality, and supplier performance metrics.
• Define and deploy standard operating procedures (SOPs) for SQEs and suppliers to
ensure consistency and right-first-time quality.
• Improve PPAP quality and First Pass Yield (FPY) through standardized review criteria and
readiness expectations.
• Strengthen corrective action effectiveness, including root cause quality and validation of
permanent countermeasures.
• Develop and drive supplier-focused COPQ reduction plans, prioritizing high-impact
suppliers and recurring issues.
• Support supplier assessments, audits, and development initiatives to improve process
maturity and compliance.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to address
systemic supplier quality issues.
• Lead supplier development initiatives, including capability assessments, targeted
improvement plans, and follow-up actions to address recurring quality issues and
maturity gaps.
• Drive strategic supplier quality initiatives focused on PPAP First Pass Yield (FPY)
improvement, corrective action effectiveness, incoming quality stabilization, and
long-term defect prevention.
• Develop and implement supplier scorecards covering PPAP performance, PPM, SCAR
aging, COPQ contribution, and audit results; support regular supplier performance
reviews (QBRs).
• Partner with Procurement and cross-functional stakeholders to identify critical suppliers,
prioritize improvement actions, and align supplier quality objectives with business and
cost targets.
Experience: 5-8 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
