Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support the Remediation and Controls group by leading out end to end analysis of existing TD data processes to understand risk to the bank. This includes data exploration, requirements gathering, documentation and presenting findings in business-friendly language.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include the following,
· Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze transaction and customer data to identify high risk behaviours or gaps in customer profile documentation
· Coding & Automation: Use SQL/Python and Databricks to automate regulatory and high-risk customer behaviour reporting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
· Collaboration: Partner with AML business partners, compliance officers, risk teams, and auditors to enhance regulatory reporting and fraud detection strategies.
· Regulatory & AML Reporting: Develop and maintain reports/dashboards to track suspicious activity, risk exposure, and compliance adherence.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
· Working with various and large datasets; experience with CPB data/products is strongly preferred
· Using multiple analytics techniques to support the business strategy.
· Creating strong partnership with business partners.
· Demonstrating critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
Required Qualifications & Skills
· Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred, with progressive project work experience
· 3+ year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.
· Technical Skills:
o Coding: Proficiency in Databricks, Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL (writing complex queries, stored procedures, data extraction).
o Data Visualization: Experience with Power BI reporting.
o Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure etc.)
o Data Handling: Experience working with large datasets, compliance data, and transactional records.

o Strong analytical mindset

o Problem-solving abilities
o Ability to translate data insights into business recommendations
o Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities
o Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience: 5-8 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from CAD 77000 to CAD 120000 .
