The Mainframe IDMS Database Administrator would be responsible for delivery and support of Mainframe IDMS services on the z/OS platform.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and implement new features/functions of IDMS and associated third party products.
- Track and resolve space related issues in File systems, database files.
- Extensive use of utilities and Performance Monitoring tools for IDMS.
- Develop and execute complex DML/DDL scripts for maintenance, auditing and migration.
- Knowledge of SMP/E and ability to prepare for and apply maintenance to an IDMS subsystem.
- Troubleshoot database abends and dead locks.
- Engineer and execute the processes to upgrade and/or apply maintenance to releases / versions of IDMS system software, and associated third party products.
- Maintain IDMS system parameters and configurations.
- Implement automated disaster recovery mechanisms for IDMS subsystems and associated third party products. Participate in all recovery coordination activities
- Run UNLOAD/RELOAD and REORG utilities.
- Develop and maintain Backup/Recovery strategies for IDMS databases.
- Conduct Strategy Reviews, Scalability Analysis and Database Architecture design.
- Perform Capacity planning for IDMS environments.
- Prepare and execute housekeeping strategies for IDMS system databases.
Provide Level 3 support to troubleshoot/resolve system-level and application problems with IDMS technologies and associated Third Party products.
Experience: 8-10 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
