Job Description

We are seeking for a VMware ESX/QA Engineer, in Mexico City or Guadalajara, Jalisco

You will be responsible for architecting, maintaining, and validating large‑scale VMware virtualization environments. This includes ESXi host lifecycle management, vCenter operations, platform hardening, QA testing of new builds, and ensuring platform reliability across production, staging, and DR sites.

 Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi clusters, including host configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Manage vCenter Server, resource pools, DRS, HA, vMotion, and cluster‑level performance tuning.
• Conduct QA validation of new ESXi builds, firmware baselines, drivers, and platform upgrades before production rollout.
• Perform platform health checks, capacity analysis, and performance optimization across compute, memory, and storage layers.
• Support VM provisioning, template management, and automation using tools such as PowerCLI, vRealize Automation, or Ansible.
• Troubleshoot ESXi host issues, VM performance problems, and platform‑level incidents.
• Implement security hardening, compliance remediation, and audit readiness for virtualization environments.
• Collaborate with networking teams to support vDS, VLANs, NIC teaming, and network performance validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, and enterprise virtualization operations.
• Knowledge of vSphere cluster services: HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, EVC, and host profiles.
• Experience performing QA testing, validation, and controlled rollout of platform changes.
• Solid understanding of compute, storage, and network virtualization concepts.
• Familiarity with vSAN, NFS, iSCSI, or enterprise SAN storage platforms.
• Proficiency with PowerCLI or other automation tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross‑team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware certifications (e.g., VCP‑DCV, VCAP‑DCV Deploy, vSAN Specialist).
• Experience with vRealize Suite, Aria Operations, or monitoring/observability platforms.
• Background in platform QA, release management, or controlled change processes.
• Experience with hybrid cloud virtualization (Azure VMware Solution, VMware Cloud on AWS).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, container platforms, or virtualization‑to‑container migration strategies.
