Job Title: Java Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Hybrid (2–3 days/week from client office)

About the Role

Join us in shaping the future of digital payments where reliability and security are paramount. Our cutting-edge payment management platform integrates global processing, fraud detection, and security mechanisms to deliver uninterrupted and trusted services to merchants worldwide.

As a Java SRE in our MAP group, you will be charged with enhancing system reliability and performance while driving automation of incident response procedures. Through expert analysis and proactive improvements, you will ensure the platform meets strict uptime and performance SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the MAP platform components and workflows to effectively support merchant operations worldwide.
  • Provide advanced (Level 3) technical support including participation in on-call rotations to swiftly address and resolve system incidents.
  • Execute root cause analysis and remediate complex system issues within defined priority-based SLAs, ensuring minimal impact on service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with development and product teams to enhance release processes, aiming to minimize post-deployment incidents and improve software quality.
  • Lead and participate in post-release monitoring activities to confirm feature stability and performance adherence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain innovative monitoring and alerting tools that significantly reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to resolve (MTTR).
  • Automate repetitive production support tasks to increase operational efficiency and free up team focus on high-value activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for disaster recovery processes and system scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in software development or test engineering with strong proficiency in Java and related technology stacks.
  • Proven track record in architecting and delivering highly scalable, robust web services operating under heavy transactional loads.
  • Hands-on experience with containerized microservices architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of troubleshooting methodologies, root cause analysis, and production incident management at scale.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery frameworks and implementation best practices.
  • Experience working in agile software development environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling clear articulation of complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Keynote.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational context with commitment to high availability.
