•    Leads the creation of solution designs for systems of medium size and complexity to effectively meet business needs. This includes the analysis of multiple solution options.
•    Provides specific subject matter expertise input into the conceptual architecture for large and complex projects.
•    Authors the specific complex macro level technical designs that define how the functional requirements will be technically enabled.
•    Provides guidance to extended project team (internal & external) related to the solution architecture and technical design. Assists and advises project teams in the configuration, testing, implementation, and support of technical solutions.
•    Authors sizing and detailed estimates for projects of medium size and complexity. Participates in the creation of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models for large and complex projects. Maintains estimate artifacts for the solution designs throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Partners with the Enterprise Architecture community on the creation of the conceptual architecture that addresses the high-level business requirements. Participates in Solution Architecture Reviews for applicable projects.
•    Maintains expert knowledge in technologies and services or a critical highly integrated Enterprise business application/service supporting a given domain. Has a solid understanding of the end to end business application processes in a given domain. Provides input into technical application roadmaps including the recommendation of IT driven projects.
•    Consults on design approaches to solving visible and complex business problems. Provides technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business applications in a given domain.
•    Creates best practices and standards. Defines standards for specific processes and/or components.
•    Performs other activities as assigned such as production support escalations, vendor RFPs, proofs of concepts, special projects.
•    May mentor one or more junior members of the team.

Section 5 – Qualifications and Experience
•    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
•    •    Extensive experience interpreting functional needs and writing or editing solution designs for new systems, systems changes or system enhancements.
•    Previous experience in the design phase of complex systems projects.
•    At least 1 advanced certification (VMware, Microsoft, RedHat, Cisco, etc.) or hyperscaler Advanced Certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
•    Significant hands on experience architecting and delivering a major infrastructure capability Cloud (Azure, AWS, Hybrid, etc.), Networking (LAN/WAN/SD WAN, Wi-Fi, etc.) Telecom (PBX, Unified communications, VOIP, Mobile, etc.), Data Centers (Servers, storage, backups, archival, etc.).
•    Technology design experience which includes Performance, Security, Availability, as well as Operations, Monitoring and Support.
•    Solid functional understanding of the business processes supported in a given domain’s business applications.
•    Strong consulting leading and mentoring skills.
•    Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills to frequently interact with all levels of the organization.
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively work both independently and within cross functional project teams that span multiple time-zones.
•    Ability to understand the big picture and the short term perspectives of specific situations.
•    Strong problem-solving and analytic skills.
•    Ability to alter direction easily to accommodate changing priorities.
