Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to resolve high-priority incidents through advanced troubleshooting, ensure SLA compliance, analyse system performance trends, and create mitigation measures by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Areas of responsibility

Triaging and resolution of tickets-Provide resolution to high priority incident (P2) tickets, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure timely closure.

SLA Monitoring-Ensure SLA compliance for assigned technology areas and ensure proactive escalation management.

Performance tuning and optimization-Analyse system performance data, coordinate findings on system behaviour, and support capacity planning initiatives to enhance overall system efficiency.

Perform system Improvements-Create mitigation measures to evaluate new tools or improvements by collaborating with technical teams.

Handling disaster recovery-Perform security assessments and recovery drills, and implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with established security standards.

Reporting and stakeholder engagement-Participate in weekly and monthly service review meetings, provide updates on performance and issues, and support stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and service alignment.

Team Management-Collaborate with team members to resolve open tickets and service requests.

Knowledge base and continuous learning Contribute to updating SOPs, knowledge articles and maintaining the knowledge repository for the purpose of future ticket resolution.

We are looking for an experienced Palo Alto SD-WAN L3 Engineer to design, implement, troubleshoot, and support enterprise WAN and SD-WAN environments. The role requires strong expertise in Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN, routing/switching, security, and advanced Level 3 troubleshooting in large enterprise networks. The engineer will work closely with infrastructure, security, cloud, and operations teams to ensure stable, secure, and scalable network services.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN solutions across branch, campus, and data center environments
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, SD-WAN policies, NAT, VPNs, QoS, and segmentation
  • Perform advanced L3 troubleshooting for WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, routing, and connectivity issues
  • Support migration from MPLS/traditional WAN to SD-WAN architecture
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing
  • Manage IPSec VPNs, tunnels, failover, and high availability configurations
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and software maintenance activities
  • Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and implement proactive improvements
  • Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and cross-functional teams during incidents and deployments
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, SOPs, and technical documentation
  • Participate in major incident management and root cause analysis
  • Support cloud connectivity integrations with AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
  • Provide technical guidance for implementation and operational teams  

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN, Cisco Routing and Switching
  • Deep understanding of WAN technologies, MPLS, SD-WAN overlays, and VPN technologies
  • Strong routing and switching knowledge:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • VLANs
    • STP
    • VRRP/HSRP
    • QoS
  • Experience with Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for TCP/IP, latency, packet drops, routing loops, and tunnel failures
  • Experience in LAN/WAN/Data Center environments
  • Knowledge of IPSec, SSL VPN, NAT, ACLs, and security policies
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Understanding of automation tools such as Python, Terraform, or Ansible is preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills  

Experience Required

  • 7–12 years of networking experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of SD-WAN implementation/support experience
