Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to bridge client's functional and technical requirements at the module level by assisting in outlining technical specifications, performing basic configuration, and troubleshooting initial system issues.

Areas of Responsibility

Requirement Gathering-Understand the functional requirements and assist in translating these into technical specifications.

Configuration and Customisation-"Assist in performing coding, configuration, and minor customisations as per defined design and development standards."

Technology Harmonisation-Support integration testing by validating interface behaviour and identifying basic issues.

Troubleshooting and optimisation-Support troubleshooting activities and help resolve basic technical issues related to performance or configuration of a specific module.

Documentation-Assist in preparing user documentation, configuration notes, and testing artefacts for a specific module.

Job Title: Power BI Developer
Location: Weehauken, NJ

Primary Skills

  • 8+ years of software engineering and application development experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python development.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI development, including:
    • Dashboard and report development
    • DAX
    • Data modeling
    • Power Query
    • Performance tuning
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience.
  • Experience delivering enterprise analytics and reporting solutions.
  •  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Wealth Management, Financial Services, or Capital Markets domains.
  • Exposure to Equity Planning, Financial Planning, Wealth Advisory, or Investment Reporting platforms.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and reporting frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Python, Power BI, and Azure technologies, with experience building scalable analytics platforms, reporting solutions, and data pipelines. Experience in Equity Planning/Wealth Management Financial Planning solutions will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable analytics and reporting solutions using Python and Power BI.
  • Build and optimize data processing pipelines, ETL frameworks, and reporting datasets on Azure cloud platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and data teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service reporting capabilities for business users.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, performance optimization, and security standards are adhered to across all reporting assets.
  • Implement reusable data models and reporting frameworks to improve platform efficiency and scalability.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical solution design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting WMA data, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
  • Provide production support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for existing solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.

 

Mandatory Skills: Microsoft Power BI .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
